I've decided to travel in a new direction, and document my debt. This is an honest and straightforward account of a millenial. I am 30 years old, and as of today, I have $43,509 of debt. I have 11 credit cards, two of which are under payment plans, and I am tired. I don't make much salary-wise, but I should make enough to live. My debt has put me in a desperate situation, where I have to seek additional employment and greater means. Having to stop my career to seek higher pay is another story for another day. I'll post on that later.

So, here goes.

Step One: I bought the book The Total Money Makeover - A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey. I have the classic edition, but chose not to purchase the associated workbook. We'll see how that works out later on in the process.

Step Two: I have signed up for a new website to help me track my debt. I am already on Mint, however, the software isn't providing me with enough of an overall picture, and I have to reset the way my accounts are set up. So I signed up for Status Money. It's supposed to be free, no charges at all.

These are the first two steps. I'll continue to provide updates as I go along. Hopefully I can help someone else along my journey.
